Sega CD/CDX Refurbishment Service

Description

This service is a refurbishment of the inner workings of your Sega CD Model 1 or 2, or your Sega CDX unit.

The Model 1 will receive a full electrolytic capacitor replacement, new laser gear(Sony model only), new tray belt, laser calibration (if needed), and a new horizontal battery holder with new rechargeable coin cell battery. Be aware that the battery holder does require cutting away a small portion of the RF shielding, This will not be noticeable from the exterior. Light trace damage due to leaking capacitors is included. Heavy damage or diagnosis will incur additional costs. CD unit tray and laser assembly lubrication and alignment are also performed at no additional charge.

The Model 2 will receive a full electrolytic capacitor replacement, new laser gear(Sony model only), laser calibration (if needed), and a new horizontal battery holder with new rechargeable coin cell battery. Depending on the model, RF shielding may need to be cut away for fitment. Capacitor leakage is not common on these models and as such any repairs will incur additional cost. Laser assembly lubrication is included at no additional cost.

The CDX will receive a full electrolytic capacitor replacement, laser calibration (if needed), and a new horizontal battery holder with new rechargeable coin cell battery. Capacitor leakage is not common on these models and as such any repairs will incur additional cost. Laser assembly replacement is available at an additional cost. Any diagnostic work that must be performed due to CD playback issues or other issues that are pre-existing will incur additional cost.
